India

What we had planned for almost two years, became reality in August 2017. My brother Ali and I went backpacking through India for one month and were joined by our friend Sarah.

We started out in Bangalore, made our way to the south east, headed further south, made stops in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, took a plane up to Maharashtra where we visited Pune and Mumbai and took another plane up north to Rajasthan. Of course, we also made a stop in Agra to see Taj Mahal before returning home from Delhi after an adventure-filled month.

In the following blogs you can read about my experiences in this huge and diverse country of which I only got a glimpse after visiting 13 different places across six states.

Spoiler alert: India is amazing! The people, the landscapes, the smells, the flavors… everything is different and it gets you thinking and questioning your norms.

With the help of Couchsurfing we managed to spend most of our time with locals and met only a handful of foreigners on our trip. The locals showed us their India which was different for each and every one of them, but nevertheless fascinating.
